I have not had a lot to say lately, other than the posts I made about Kennedy and politics. I have received a few comments I did not approve because my blog spot is not for me to argue. I have left it open for replies, but replies that are intelligent, that have something truly to say other than to tell me that I am racist (I am not) or that I am stupid (which I most definitely am not) or who call me a leftist, thinking they are insulting me (I am a proud ultra-left socialist bleeding-heart liberal, with no apologies).
I am following the college football games this year as I have done in the past. It is clear to me that I am probably going to have to order sports channels next year because so many teams, or team organizations, are getting their own channels. My complex pays for basic cable, which includes ESPN, ESPN2, and FOXSN, but I am going to need FS1, PAC12, more ESPN channels, and I think the SEC is coming up with their own channel – which I most definitely will need, since most of my fave teams are SEC teams (Big 10 has a couple). So I haven’t kept my readers who care up with how I’m doing against the seven sports writers here this year. I did finally have one week where I got more wins right than any of them, but it was followed by a week where I only got 8 out of the 15 right – in fact, that has happened twice this year. I’m still on the plus side, but last time I checked my percentage, it was around .635.
I will be doing my usual predictions of all the college bowl games, which will be posted both here and in ESPN later in December. I’m already watching the soapy, fluffy, sweet Christmas shows that Hallmark and Lifetime run all the month long. I did eschew them up until yesterday, Thanksgiving, even though they have been on for most of November. I like to have Thanksgiving before I start thinking about Christmas.
As for Thanksgiving, two of my fave friends took me out yesterday – we ate Chinese. But my birthday is this coming Wednesday, December 4 (my 73rd), and I am having them in for a traditional Thanksgiving feast – turkey, dressing, sweet potatoes, rolls, veggies, and pumpkin pie. Well, that is just how we roll.
Anyway, wishing everyone my best wishes for the holiday season, however you spend it, and if I hear any great music, or see any great things in the next few weeks, or think of something especially nice, I will let you know. The one thing you won’t hear from me about over the next month is politics. I take one month off from politics every year – I just hate anger and sadness and idiocy during this final month of the year.
I’ll talk to you again soon.
