This coming Sunday, friends are taking me to see Les Miserables the Movie. I am looking forward to it, and will write a blog sometime next week about what I think about it. I am pleased, going in, to already know that Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway, and the movie itself, have won Golden Globes. I would have liked the music to win as well, but the beautiful score from the Life of Pi won that for Mychael Danna, a composer I like quite a lot for his New Age sounds.
I can hope that the writers of the music and lyrics from Les Mis win the Oscars, but I think Danna’s score will be hard to beat, especially since Les Mis the Broadway shows have already won Tonys for the music.
Anyway, I’ll let you know what I think.
